Equitable Workforce Transition in the Auto Industry: Perspectives from India and the US

The automotive industry’s transition into the era of electric vehicles is inevitable as the world moves to net zero. However, as the industry transitions, there is a need to navigate the transition in a just and equitable manner. It should not leave behind long-time autoworkers and communities, aim to support workforce development and skilling, and must ensure the creation of high-quality jobs, including for women.
This event seeks to bring together experts and stakeholders to discuss the unfolding EV transition in India and the U.S, fostering cross-country dialogue, and identifying effective strategies that navigate economic, labor, and social justice issues during this transformative period.
