Accelerating Access Coalition (aaco) Story Challenge

Inviting Narratives for WASH & Healthy Space Initiatives & Challenges

Are you an independent scholar, writer, or a communicator based in India with a track record of writing on urbanization, sustainable development, climate change, water, human development, or similar issues? We want to hear from you!

Visit aaco.wricitiesindia.org to participate in WRI India’s first Story Challenge.

The Accelerating Access Coalition (aaco) Story Challenge invites proposals in line with the theme ‘Improving citywide inclusive and resilient access to WASH (Water, Sanitation and Hygiene) and healthy spaces in India’. The five shortlisted entries stand to win INR 50,000 each along with an opportunity to learn more about on-ground challenges in an interactive workshop.

We seek stories that:

  1. llustrate broader city-based WASH challenges.
  2. Document how underserved urban communities experience inadequate and climate-vulnerable WASH systems.
  3. Spotlight initiatives that focus on integrated solutions – e.g., initiatives led by community organizations.
  4. Document initiatives based on Nature-Based Solutions (NBS).

Along with the award, the selected five stories will gain global visibility through WRI India’s communication and social media network.
