About the Summit

India’s battery transition is entering a defining decade, and Battery Summit 2026 brings together the conversations, partnerships, and innovations that will shape its future. Returning as the second edition of India’s flagship battery convening, the Summit will be hosted by Battery360 under the theme “Towards a Self-Reliant Battery Ecosystem in India.”

Building on the momentum of its inaugural Battery Summit 2025  edition, the Summit continues to serve as a national platform for dialogue and collaboration across the battery value chain. The first edition, convened by NITI Aayog, UNEP, and WRI India, with the Ministry of Science and Technology as knowledge partner, brought together policymakers, industry leaders, academia, innovators, and technical experts to explore the future of India’s battery ecosystem. Discussions on manufacturing, circularity, alternative chemistries, and Battery Aadhaar reinforced the need for sustained ecosystem-wide engagement as India accelerates its clean energy transition.

Focus Areas for 2026

Battery Summit 2026 will deepen conversations around self-reliance, technology readiness, domestic capability building, and long-term competitiveness across the battery sector, with a focus on:
