Tweet Chat: How can sustainable transport and better urban design improve road safety in cities?

ThinkSafety

India has a relatively low level of motorization as compared to developed countries, and yet accounts for 10 percent of the global road traffic crash fatalities. In 2013 alone, 140,000 people lost their lives on Indian roads, and more than 50,000 people were seriously injured. Most victims tend to be in the age bracket of 15 to 45 years. This puts a tremendous burden on families and the economy. EMBARQ India will be hosting a tweet chat with leading local and international road safety and transport experts to discuss what can be done to improve this scenario.

Follow @EMBARQIndia and use the hashtag #ThinkSafety and join the discussion with experts from around the world on Wednesday, 20 May, 2015 at 5:00 pm IST.
