Through this half day workshop, WRI India hopes to engage with experts from academia, government, and practitioners to inform a project aimed at identifying key intervention areas at the intersection of energy access and landscape restoration. The objective of this study is to find opportunities to effectively engage in this space and find the key enabling conditions and barriers. WRI India will present key findings from preliminary research in this space, and discuss interventions that can be scaled up in the Indian context.
The Hub is a free-access online capacity building portal meant to facilitate knowledge sharing, peer learning and collaboration in the field of sustainable urban transport and urban development in India. It is not only the absence of credible ground-level data, guidance documents for planning and design, knowledge of best practices and toolkits customized to local realities of our cities, that is an issue, but merely the lack of access to this information and these resources.
The Hub extensively bridges this gap to focus exclusively on research and learning filtered out as a part of WRI India’s work and engagement with cities, thus enabling effective utilization of data resources to improve the quality of life in cities. Access publications, research papers, data sets, videos, training material, toolkits and other ready-to-use resources developed by WRI India through its research work with different cities here: http://wricitieshub.org
