Karishma Shelar

Research Analyst

Bio

Karishma Shelar is a Research Analyst with WRI India. She supports research and other activities of the Landscape Restoration Program and the Climate Resilience Practice, with a focus on coordinating and implementing deliverables under WRI India’s partnership with NABARD. As part of this initiative, she works closely with NABARD in developing a collaborative approach toward the sustainable management of India's natural resources.

Karishma has been with WRI India since 2012 and initially supported the Operations team with legal compliance processes towards the setting up of WRI in India. In addition, she worked in the Office of the CEO, where she provided research, writing and communications support to cultivate WRI India as a thought leader in the environment and sustainability sector.

Karishma received a B.A in Sociology and Economics and a Honours in Sociology from St. Xavier's College, Mumbai. Karishma is currently pursuing a Master’s in Business Law with the National Law School of India University, Bengaluru via their distance learning program.

Karishma is a test cricket aficionado and a keen observer of political affairs in India.
