When it comes to urban transport and city planning, there is a lack of capacity in Indian cities today in the areas of policymaking, investment decisions, executing planning and design, and overall operationalization of services. Both institutions and individuals working in this field face a challenge in addressing the alarming increase in cities’ urban population, travel demand and the threats posed by rapid motorization which are detrimental to individual and societal well-being.
As a response towards bridging this gap in individual and institutional capacity, WRI India has produced high quality, seminal publications which inform policy and facilitate intelligent decision making. The objective of the Hub is to bridge the gaps in individual and institutional capacities, available data and information that currently exist in Indian cities by providing a single site source for researchers, practitioners, students, policymakers and others.
